Why Don’t We Play More?
According to a 2023 National Geographic article, studies suggest that play may be as essential to our health as sleep.* As adults, most of us quietly stopped playing, not because we outgrew it, but because life got busy and serious. Yet it's precisely in play that we build trust, handle uncertainty, and connect with other people most naturally.
Shared moments of play are a powerful way to unmake boxes—to challenge limiting beliefs we hold about ourselves and others.
Unmaking those beliefs not only helps us avoid causing harm, it frees up the energy we’ve been spending on holding back… energy that can go toward building more joyful, fulfilling, and purposeful lives.
